The system comes standard with functionality that will increase accuracy and speed when registering new deals. This will make sure that the correct codes are applied to the right deals and minimize human error on deal entry. One part of that functionality is called Mandatory fields.
Mandatory Fields
With Mandatory fields you can set certain portfolio codes as mandatory, meaning that you can't save a deal unless certain portfolio codes are set.
Let's look at how:
- Go to Register > Setup > Mandatory fields
- Start by choosing which application for which you want to specify mandatory fields. For example CRM Finance, CRM Equities, CRM Commodities etc.
- Menu item: Lists the available menu items in the Deal input menu.
- Instrument: Lists the available instruments in the selected Deal input menu
-
User ID: Lists all defined users
Like Default values you can set the mandatory fields to trigger down to a specific user and a specific instrument but you can also set the system to trigger the mandatory field on a higher level in which case you don't need to select specific instruments or users.
Overview
Click on the Overview button to see all the selections you have made as Mandatory fields. This list can also be printed for further review.
Mandatory fields are related to Default values.
