The system comes standard with functionality that will increase accuracy and speed when registering new deals. This will make sure that the correct codes are applied to the right deals and minimize human error on deal entry. One part of that functionality is called Default Values.
Default Values
With Default values you can set portfolio codes that are commonly used as default per deal input form, for different instruments and users.
- Go to Register > Setup > Default Values
- Start by choosing which application for which you want to specify default values. For example CRM Finance, CRM Equities, CRM Commodities etc.
- Menu item: Lists the available menu items in the Deal input menu.
- Instrumen: Lists the available instruments in the selected Deal input menu
- User ID: Lists all defined users
You can set the default values to trigger down to a specific user and a specific instrument but you can also set the system to trigger the default value on a higher level in which case you don't need to select specific instruments or users.
Once you have set the criteria for the default value you define the fields you want to be defaulted by selecting Registration fields and clicking Add and then select a Field value. You can also lock that value so that it can't be changed.
Overview
If you click on Overview you will see a full list of all the Default values setup in the system. This list can also be printed for further review.
Default values are also related to Mandatory Fields.
